Vladimir I. Danilov

Biography

Vladimir Ivanovich Danilov was born in 1943 in Ufa. He graduated from the Department of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University in 1966, received Candidate of Science in Mathematics degree in 1970, Doctor of Science in Mathematics degree - in 1993. Currently, Dr Danilov is a Principal Researcher at the Laboratory of Mathematical Economics, Co-Chair of the Mathematical Economics seminar.

Dr Danilov joined CEMI faculty in 1969. His laboratory chiefs were A.I. Katsenelinboigen, B.S. Mityagin, Yu.V. Ovsienko, V.L. Makarov, V.M. Polterovich. His early research was in the field of algebraic geometry; current interest is in combinatorics (discrete convexity, Young tableaux, crystals, closure operators). Dr Danilov made significant advances in game theory and, in particular, in implementation theory.

Vladimir Danilov is the author of more than 80 published articles, monographs and textbooks. For his scientific achievements, Dr Danilov was awarded the Kantorovich Prize by the Russian Academy of Sciences in 2002.
